Sims Library Summer Reading Carnival Postponed
Summer Reading Carnival outside events at the Nicholas P. Sims Library scheduled for Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 10:00-12:00 has been postponed until Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 10:00-12:00 due to excessive heat. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.
The Carnival Store will be held as scheduled on August 13th from 10:00-12:00.
The library will be providing popcorn, cotton candy as well as performances by Boocoos the Clown on August 13th for participants of the Summer Reading Program.

Nicholas P. Sims Library welcomes Summer Santa for story time and craft Wednesday, August 3, from 10:00-11:00. Come chill out with Santa this summer in this enjoyable program for children ages 2-10. This program will be presented in the Sims Library Meeting Room as part of Sims Library’s Texas Reading Club events. -
- Pet Show

Nicholas P Sims Library presents the annual Pet Show, Friday, August 5, from 10:00-11:00. Proud pet owners, ages 4-10, have a prize winning opportunity to show off their animal favorites at Sims Library. The show is open to all breeds and species. Categories in this contest include Biggest, Cutest, Friendliest, Most Talented, Scaliest, Smallest, Strangest, and more. Medals and a Best in Show trophy will be awarded to winning contestants. This program is an outside event presented on the front lawn of the library as part of Sims Library’s Texas Reading Club events. -

Nicholas P Sims Library’s Summer Reading Challenge Carnival Store will open Saturday, September 24th, from 10AM -Noon inside the library, and will be available August 16th-18th.

Nicholas P Sims Library’s annual end of summer reading carnival will be held Saturday, September 24th, from 10AM -Noon. The carnival is sponsored by the Friends of Sims Library and is a wonderful celebration of reading that includes games and prizes for participants of the Texas Reading Club’s summer reading program.

Participants receive carnival tickets to be utilized at the event and reading certificates for their accomplishments. This program is an outside event presented on the front lawn of the library as part of the Sims Library’s Texas Reading Club events.

Adult Summer Reading Program
May 21st - August 20th
- Ages 18 and up
- Checkout materials with your Sims Library card
- Complete a form for each book and return it by August 20th 2 P.M.
- Download a Reader Log
There will be a Weekly drawing for a $25 gift card for merchandise or a restaurant meal donated by the Friends of Sims Library and local businesses. The grand prize, an eReader, will be awarded to the person who turns in the most reading logs
