August 4: Summer Santa

Nicholas P. Sims Library welcomes Summer Santa for story time and craft Wednesday, August 4, from 10:00-11:00. Come chill out with Santa this summer in this enjoyable program for children ages 4-10. This program will be presented in the Sims Library Meeting Room as part of Sims Library’s Texas Reading Club events.
- August 6: Talent Show

Children ages 4-10 demonstrate their talents at the Nicholas P. Sims Library’s annual talent show for children. Talent show will be presented Friday, August 6, from 10:00-11:00. Participants must register at Sims Library prior to event. This program will be presented on the outside lawn of the library as part of Sims Library’s Texas Reading Club events.
- August 11: Super Dave & Big Ern

Super Dave & Big Ern perform high energy songs and funny antics in this engaging musical show at Nicholas P. Sims Library, Wednesday, August 11, from 10:00-11:00. Everyone will enjoy laughing and singing along in a fun celebration of being a child. This program will be presented on the outside lawn of the library as part of Sims Library’s Texas Reading Club events.
- August 14: Sims Library Carnival

Nicholas P Sims Library’s annual end of summer reading carnival will be held Saturday, August 14, from 10AM -Noon. The carnival is sponsored by the Friends of Sims Library and is a wonderful celebration of reading that includes games and prizes for participants of the Texas Reading Club’s summer reading program. Participants receive carnival tickets to be utilized at the event and reading certificates for their accomplishments. This program is an outside event presented on the front lawn of the library.

Adult Summer Reading Program
This year Sims Library is inviting adults to join the fun in its annual summer reading club!
- June 1st - September 1st .
- Must have a Sims Library card.
- Read or listen to any book in the Sims adult department each week.
- Turn in a simple reading log and earn a chance in the weekly drawing for a $25 gift card, compliments of the Friends of Sims Library.
- The person who turns in the most reading logs wins the grand prize of dinner and a movie for two.
- Print out Adult Reading Logs.
Kids Summer Reading Program
ages 2-12
- Reading logs will be available beginning Friday, May 28th. Turn in your logs by 5:30 on Saturday, July 31st.
- This summer we are counting books and pages read, depending on age.
